As Ana arrived at her office, Ana felt a sense of excitement and anticipation. Ana’s staff greeted her and led her to the meeting room where Camila waited. As Ana enter the room, she greeted Camila warmly.
Camila had been nervously anticipating the meeting with Ana for days. As a recent graduate looking for work, she had applied for a position with the Diputación Provincial de Lugo. It was a prestigious opportunity to work with the local government, and Camila was excited about the potential of a career in politics.
She arrived at the meeting room early, double-checking her notes and rehearsing her responses. When Ana arrived, Camila stood up to greet her with a smile, trying to hide her nervousness.
"Hello Camila, thank you for coming," Ana said, taking a seat at the table. "I've reviewed your application and I think you could be a good fit for the team."
Camila's heart raced with excitement. "Thank you so much for considering me," she replied eagerly.
"But before we move forward, I want to be clear about something," Ana continued. "This position is temporary at first, but there's potential for it to become permanent. It will all depend on how you perform on the first big project."
Camila felt a sudden wave of nervousness wash over her. She had worked hard to get to this point, but now the pressure was on.
"The project is to update the telecommunications within the Diputación Provincial de Lugo during its current renovations," Ana explained. "It's a complex task, but we believe you have the skills to handle it."
Ana stressed the importance of preserving the historical significance of the building. "The Diputación Provincial de Lugo is an architectural significant site in Lugo," she said. "It has been standing since 1833, and I want it to stand for another 200 years."
Camila nodded in agreement. She knew how important it was to preserve historical buildings, especially in a city like Lugo with such a rich history.
Ana went on to explain that while they were planning to upgrade the telecommunication systems in the building, they must not change or modify the character of the historical building. "We can't risk damaging or destroying any of the original features of the building," she said.
Camila listened carefully, taking notes on everything Ana said. She knew that this was a delicate balance between modernization and preservation, but she was confident that they could find a solution that satisfied both requirements.
As they continued to discuss the plans, Ana could see the passion and enthusiasm that Camila had for the project. She knew that with Camila's knowledge and expertise, they could make this project a success while also preserving the historical significance of the building.
When the meeting was over, Ana thanked Camila for her time and expertise. She was excited to have her on board and knew that with her help, they could make the Diputación Provincial de Lugo a model for historical preservation and modernization.
Camila nodded, trying to stay focused. "I understand," she said. "I'll do my best to make sure the project is a success."
"Good," Ana said, nodding. "We'll be monitoring your progress closely, and if all goes well, we'll consider making the position permanent, as I have an even bigger plan for Lugo."
Camila's interest was piqued, and she leaned forward in her chair. "What's your plan?" she asked.
"I want to bring free WIFI to all of Lugo," Ana said. "I believe that access to the internet is a basic necessity in today's world, and I want to make sure that everyone in our city has that access."
Camila nodded in agreement. She knew that access to the internet was essential for education, job opportunities, and staying connected with family and friends. "How do you plan to do it?" she asked.
"I have a few ideas," Ana replied. "We could start by partnering with local businesses to offer free WIFI to their customers. We could also work with the city government to create WIFI hotspots in public areas like parks and plazas."
Camila was impressed with Ana's vision for the city. She knew that bringing free WIFI to Lugo would be a huge undertaking, but she was excited to be a part of it.
Camila couldn't believe what opportunities she was looking at. A permanent job with the Lugo government meant a job for life, heading up large infrastructure projects. It was what she had been working towards, and she felt a surge of excitement and determination.
"Thank you so much for this opportunity," she said, grinning from ear to ear.
Ana smiled back. "You're welcome, Camila. I think you have a lot of potential, and I look forward to seeing what you can do."
With that, the meeting was over. Camila walked out of the room feeling both thrilled and nervous. She had a lot of work ahead of her, but she was ready to take on the challenge. Ana had promised to let her know her decision within the next two weeks, and Camila was eager to get started on the project and prove herself.
Daniela Olano was waiting outside the government building where Camila had just had her interview with Ana. They had arranged to meet outside, so that Daniela could give her friend a lift home.
Daniela and Camila had been friends since they were young girls, growing up in the same neighborhood in Lugo. Daniela had always been interested in law enforcement, and it was through her connections to the police chief, Alejandro Garro, who happened to be Camila's father, that she had been able to get a job with the police force.
As Camila emerged from the building, Daniela stood up from where she was sitting on a bench and gave her friend a hug. "How did it go?" she asked.
"It went really well," Camila said, smiling. "Ana seemed impressed with my qualifications and experience. She said they'll let me know within the next couple of weeks if I got the job."
"That's great news," Daniela said, giving Camila another hug. "What's the position?"
"It's a temporary position at first, but there's potential for it to become permanent," Camila explained. "It's with the Diputación Provincial de Lugo, working on a big project to update the telecommunications during the current renovations."
Daniela nodded, but then sighed. "Just remember, if it's a permanent government position, it has to be posted in public and a test held. The government has to hire the person with the highest score."
Camila's face fell slightly at that news. She had been so excited at the prospect of a permanent job with the government, but now she realized it might not be as easy as she had hoped.
"Don't worry," she said, trying to stay positive. "I'll find a way to be the top person."
Daniela smiled at her friend's determination. "I don't doubt it," she said. "Let's get out of here and head back to your place."
Camila and Daniela made their way to Daniela's car, chatting about their plans for the evening. As they drove off, Camila couldn't help but think about the challenge ahead of her. But with her best friend's support and her own drive and determination, she was ready to take it on.
Driving home that night, Ana couldn't wait to get started on the project. She knew that it wouldn't be easy, and she still had to navigate the tricky waters of politics and power dynamics. But with Camila by her side, she felt more confident than ever that they could make it happen. And as she looked out at the beautiful Roman Walls of Lugo, Ana felt grateful for the opportunity to serve her community and to make a real impact on the world around her.
